Super good!!!! Hubby is always very skeptical of my chili attempts but he was a big fan of this one. Other than the beans, everything was out of our garden. I pre-tested the jalapeno before hand and thought it was really spicy so decided to cut the chili powder back by half after reading some of the other reviews...I find it easier to add the spice after the fact. This chili has a similar texture to a meat chili with the addition of the ground walnuts and bulgar... ingenious! Did find it needed quite a bit of salt in the end, so much so that I feel as though it should have an actual quantity in the measurements to start out as a baseline, but that's really my only criticism.

Delicious! I didn’t have course burgul so I used soaked soya nuggets (soy meal) which I put in food processor to make the consistency of meat. I also didn’t have shiitake dried mushrooms but I did have porcini dried mushrooms so I used that instead and it turned out well. Great recipe, so many interesting flavors!
