So easy and so delicious. This was my first time making Swedish meatball sauce from scratch and it was way better than the stor bought pre-made or mix powder. I added a splash of brandy I keep around for cooking cream sauces.

very tasty! needed more allspice and salt. and i added some corn starch to thicken a bit. will make again for sure

Delicious recipe and quite different from your typical Swedish meatball sauce. My husband took leftovers to work and was asked for the recipe! This will replace the other Swedish meatball sauce I normally make.

Allspice (along with nutmeg, of course) makes this recipe a standout!
Most recipes for Swedish meatballs I’ve seen omit it. I added a bit more of both nutmeg and allspice than called for in this recipe and I prefer to use freshly ground white pepper in place of black pepper. However, finely ground black pepper is acceptable as well. In my opinion, the addition of fresh chopped parsley on top of a portion is mandatory to please both the eye and the palate rather than to serve as a routine garnish for appearance.

I made it for my picky family and they all loved it!! It took a rly long time and this is just for the sauce not the actual meatballs.
