Not what I was hoping for but decent. I tried slow cooking the onion in the crock pot overnight. Even after 12 hours the onion wasn’t done enough. So, I carmalized them on the stove and that helped but not what I was wanting to do. The remaining ingredients seemed like overkill but did give a unique taste. I had a lot of the base soup left over and decided to freeze it. A month later I used the base for a vegetable beef soup which the onion soup gave a unique and delicious flavor. Next time, I may forego the final stages of the soup and make a nice steak soup with it.
