  • 1/4 bunch fresh oregano
  • 1/2 bunch fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil (for sauce)
  • 2 tsp. salt (for sauce)
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (for sauce)
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 2 cans canned tomatoes (preferably San Marzano, 28 oz. per can)
  • 1 lb. 80% lean ground beef (preferably course ground chuck)
  • 1 lb. ground pork (preferably course ground butt)
  • 2 tsp. salt (for meatballs)
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (for meatballs)

    These were very much a family pleaser. Not a word at the dinner table and seconds all around. Even with the red pepper flakes that the wife usually balks at, these were a big hit. im actually going to make them again for a work event.

    AMAZING!! Took me a little longer than 80 minutes, but boy was it worth it! Best meatballs AND sauce I've ever had, the whole family loved it too, even my onion haters.

    Perfect! this will be my go to red sauce forever! I'm going to fry my balls in good olive oil then finish cooking them in the sauce till done.

    Very good, simple basic flavor.
    Turned out great, I slow cooked the sauce for like 6 hours, and I left my feta cheese in chunks, and the meatballs turned out incredible!
