    I took other peoples reviews and made the following modifications: I added 2 TBSP of flour. I added 1 cup (instead of 1/2) of finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese. I stirred the sour cream and bacon in immediately after I took the soup off to cool. My husband said it tasted like "professional " soup..lol whatever that means. I paired it with garlic breadsticks and whole family gobbled it up!

    This is such a good soup recipe. I have many wonderful soup recipes and this one makes a great addition. This soup is so tasty and smooth. I love that you use the potatoes to make the soup creamy rather than adding in a lot of cream. I replaced the russet potatoes with gold potatoes. I omitted the chives because I didn’t have any. I used this soup as a base for my creamy potato and chicken corn chowder and it’s so good. Give this soup a try. You won’t be disappointed.

    Good I think - I added chopped onions with the garlic but the cayenne pepper gave it a bite that for me I could have done without.

    Very easy to make 😁! Delicious 😋 but it took longer than 35 minutes for the potatoes to soften.

    It was an ok soup. I mashed the potatoes a little because the soup was to watery. It was easy to make. But probably won’t make again.

    I added flour, extra cheese and bacon into it and it turned out great my husband and kids loved it! Will be making this all winter long

    AMAZING! Couldn’t get enough of it! I’m a firm believer that you can never have too much cheese, so I added more than the recipe called for but didn’t change it otherwise. That little bit of cayenne really makes this special. Definitely try this soup!

    Watery and salty. I will not make it again.
    Pretty tasty! Added bacon grease to the soup after it it finished and subbed out the sour cream for French onion dip since I didn’t have any chives on hand. Would totally make it again!

    Was amazing. Just made a few changes. Added bacon to the broth before the milk and added about 2 tbs of flour. Not one drop left behind and was asked to make it again this week for dinner. Cheap, simple and tasty

    I made this sans bacon and opted for veggie broth instead of meat based. I also I used more than the called upon spice amount and threw in a bullion cube, I think it needed more favor since I used a veggies broth. I also added dash of heavy whipping cream and table spoon or two of corn starch to thicken it up more. Super yummy! Definitely will make again!

    This was a big hit. It almost tastes like pierogi filling. I would suggest using more potatoes than the recipe calls for (I did and it turned out very creamy and thick), heavy cream instead of milk and a potato masher to thicken the soup. I also used sharp cheddar to bring out the flavour.

    It turned out very runny. I did have to double this recipe, so idk if that’s what caused it. The taste was really good but I did add more seasoning. Over all, this would be a great recipe with modifications, I just wish it wouldn’t have turned out so watery. Maybe add more potatoes or less broth when doubling and this would have turned out better.
