  • 2 ounces grated Parmesan cheese (2 oz. is about 2/3 cup)

    Tried this and followed the suggested additions including leaving out the Panko bread crumbs. They were slightly soggy and too creamy for me. Won’t make again.

    These turned out fantistic. I did leave out the bread crumbs as several others mentioned and just opted for garlic and parsley seasoning. They were a huge hit.

    So I used the recommended recipe, but I took Garza’s advice and it came out perfect! I didn’t use Panko crumbs at all, and I also didn’t use the hot sausage because not everyone at the party doesn’t like spicy. However, I love spicy so next time I’ll make it with that I did however add ground pork to it, and more red pepper, I didn’t have a shallot I used a yellow onion. Also used wostershire sauce when cooking the meat, also used the stems of the baby Bella’s to mix in there. I also used fresh garlic made a huge difference. All in all everyone loved it and I love it :) thanks Garza for your recommendation! :) I will be making this again.

    I'm vegan so I used Vegan Chorizo, Vegan Cream Cheese and Vegan Parmesan Cheese. The spicey Chorizo added a little heat. It was delicious! can't wait to make to again..soon

    This is a very tasty stuffed mushroom recipe. Lots of options you can do from this recipe to make it your own!

    I made some changes, and next time i will change it a little more. I added Worcestershire Sauce to the meat and cut up the mushroom stems and added it to the meat mixture. I also used medium sized portobellos. I used oregano, thyme, and rosemary. Lastly I drizzled olive oil the top of the mushrooms.
    Of course it's good! I invented the recipe 25 years ago! Although, this is only part of my recipe: you Jimmy Dean HOT SAUSAGE. the Italian sausage doesn't taste right to me. NEED FRESH CHOPPED GARLIC, NO panco crumbs ( this makes the filling DRY!) and add more cracked red pepper in this recipe. And add a bit of Worcestershire Sauce when you are cooking the sausage.NO THYME. Instead, use Italian seasonings. An IMPORTANT item is FRESH Chopped parsley. I've tasted different recipes that others make and I'm told NO ONE comes close to mine. Try my recommendations and judge your self. OH! If you are doing this for a party, get 4 large containers of shrooms, 2 cream cheese packages and 2 sausage (HOT people, HOT) packages. I find using the brown mushrooms taste better. I'd also recommend choosing the BEST shredded ParmesanCheese....not stuff like Kraft, etc. FRESH ingredients are best ( except for the dried italian herbs). If you happen to have left over stuffing and no mushrooms, I use my left over to make sausage turnovers or small meat pies. Your welcome!

    So yummy! Added a little extra cheese for the kids, and will try it with some garlic next try, but this is very much a new go to recipe. I used normal beef sausage and it worked so well!!
