Didn’t use the cabbage because no one else likes it and they wouldn’t have eaten any of it. Followed the other directions though and it was absolutely delicious

Loved the simplicity of this:) I used fresh ingredients oppose to so many powdered versions the recipe calls for. And added or substituted the following a bitter veggie stock, bell pepper, string beans, a heap of garlic, ground white pepper, and rosemary. Also I’d use less water next time because it sort of drowned the flavor I put on the veggies but the meat was so flavorful.

Amazing!! I used chicken breasts instead of a whole chicken, and it was really good! Definelty will make again!

Amazing! hearty meal with old world flavor. Next time I'll used whole cabbage. Half was not enough

Very good, simple, one-pot meal. I did make a few modifications. I used a dutch oven and browned the meat using the exact spices but added a bit of flour to make it go further. I didn't have any bacon, darn it, but gave it a shot anyway. I tried to make up for some of that flavor by adding a splash of soy sauce, a pad of butter, and chicken broth instead of water. I really liked it but my husband said it was 'eh, ok'. Probably would have been perfect with the bacon.
