Description

Take the classic patty melt to the next level by using Impossible™ Burger, marble rye bread, cola-caramelized onions, melted cheese, and dill pickle chips. By Impossible Foods Chef J. Michael Melton.

  • 12 ounces Impossible™ Burger
  • 1 onion (sliced thin)
  • 1 cup cola
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 slices plant-based cheese (Follow Your Heart brand, American-style cheese)
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 6 slices rye bread
  • dill pickle slices (as needed)

    Directions

    1. Prepare the Impossible™ Burger: Form 4 oz burger patties and keep refrigerated.
    2. Time for cola-caramelized onions: Place sliced onions in a pot. Cover onions about 90% with cola and add salt. Place over medium heat and reduce until cola is completely reduced and evaporated. Be careful not to burn.
    3. It's the cheeze whiz: Combine cheese and water in a sauce pan. Heat slowly and whisk until well incorporated.
