Thought I was burning them because they looked black in some places and it smelled a bit smoky, but they tasted great. I think it was just where the sugar and honey were caramelizing. Marinated eight hours and probably wouldn’t recommend going for much less time because the flavor is still a bit subtle. Only cooked for 30 minutes on my oven’s convection setting. Turned out nicely crisp! Don’t skip either of the pieces of foil or I’d say you’re in for a sad surprise when it comes to cleanup because the sauce is crazy sticky.

This is the 3rd time making this. I make quadruple the recipe all 3 times for big family event. Everyone loves it. I cook it at 400 and cook it 15 mins on both sides and then 2 min under broiler.

This is a great recipe. I added grated ginger because I love ginger. I made 2 times the amount of marinade. I used 1/2 of that to marinade the raw chicken. I reduced the other 1/2 of the marinade for the wing sauce. I will never cook and serve a marinade that has played host to raw chicken. That said a superb recipe.

Burnt chicken at 425 degrees for 45 minutes on middle rack! I will never make this from this guided menu again!!!

Didn’t like the marinade flavor at all. Also, by 30min my oven was smoking from the burnt marinade drippings. Not worth stinking up my kitchen. My husband didn’t like them either ...

It was actually amazing!! I’m a beginner when it comes to cooking so at first the marinade was smelling a little funky, but I kept following through with the recipe and it came out DELICIOUS 👌 highly recommend 😌

The recipe was delicious! I didn’t have a wire rack so the excess marinade did burn. I recommend baking for 15 minutes, flipping, and then another 15 minutes finish off by broiling for the last 3-4 mins to get a crunch. Prior to broiling I swapped out the foil because of the burnt marinade. I added some red chili flakes, garlic salt, garlic powder, and chili powder. Will definitely be making again.

Will definitely cook this again. I didn't have enough honey and used fish sauce instead of soy sauce. so I adjusted the ingredients (fish sauce and brown sugar) accordingly. Turned out great. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

I don’t know what y’all talking about. Granted a couple of the ones in the back were Crispier, but they were delicious overall. I’d say drop your heat down to 400° instead of 425° as per the recipe, and let it ride on out for about 33 minutes. Sweet doggy!

Mine got toasted but it's still delicious. I think next time I have to cook it for 30mins.

Omg so yummy, tender and flavorful! You’ll have plenty of sauce to baste afterwards!

I added a little bit of ginger and red pepper flakes to mine to the marinade and they were great! I sautéed the chicken with pepper and adobo seasoning too.

Top rate! Will make again. Not that hard. My only complaint is the relatively quick cooking time in the recipe listing does not include the time needed to marinate the chicken legs. So if you schedule the eating time in Yummly the notification of when to start prep is inaccurate. But that is more an app gripe than a problem with the recipe.

Easy ro make. The finished product was delicious to look at, made the kitchen smell like I knew how to cook and tasted great!
