Kind of bland. I added cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and raisins and the cake still needed something. Important to really boil the frosting for 2 min. minimum and then to beat it with an electric mixer until waves form!

Excellent dessert!! easy to prepare. I added 1/2 tsp baking powder and cinnamon to the apples (I cooked them with brown sugar prior to adding them up mix)

I made this for a party and everyone liked it! I added cinnamon to the cake batter and doubled the chopped apples. I left the skin on the apples since they’re chopped; really good. It’s like a coffee cake, so kind of crumbly. It makes a 9x13 so it serves more like 16 people. Not sure why the recipe says it’s 4 servings. Would definitely recommend this to others.

Amazing. I added some cinnamon to the batter as well. It was very delicious!!!

Very good. Highly recommend. Only thing different I did was add 1 tsp. Cinnamon to batter. The icing is very very rich and is more of a caramel consistency. Should this be kept in the refrigerator?
