Delicious! My whole family loved this cake. I replaced the rum with pineapple juice and used honeycrisp apples that were starting to get slightly soft. I will definitely be making this again.

Very good. Used 1 tsp of almond extract and 1 tbsp of apple juice instead of rum. Also added a bit of fresh grated nutmeg and 1/4tsp of cinnamon. (didn't have fresh apples so used a quart of home canned apples, drained) sprinkled with tuubinado sugar and a little cinnamon.

great! easy and it was a hit for thanksgiving. i agree it would be great with tea or coffee.
i had “golden” not “spiced” rum, but it seemed to work fine. will make again.

The best apple cake ever. I did not add rum, however, but I otherwise followed the recipe exactly as it’s written. It’s divine!

It turned out well. Will leave out the rum next time but easy to make and delicious!

Turned out great. Only used 1 tbsp of spiced rum and 1 granny smith and 1.5 gala apples since it was all that was available.

This was so easy and delicious. It's not real big, so perfect for my husband and I. It reminds me of something my grandmother would have served to her friends when they came over for midmorning coffee.

Amazing!! It was moist, soft, very flavorful, and easy to make. I used only 2 Tbsp of regular rum (instead of 3 of dark rum). I used Honey Crisp apples (3 apples which equaled 3 1/4 cups). I used a 10 inch Springform pan. I will definitely make it again.

Excellent rustic cake. Have made it three times, and each time it was a big hit. I would suggest using vanilla sugar if you can lay your hands on some. about a tablespoon of that mixed into your granulated sugar is lovely.

Fantastic! Used unsalted butter. Didn’t have the rum and forgot granulated sugar but it was still great! Light, not too sweet. I’ll make it again!

I made it in a tart pan and the edges turned out very well, not too crispy. Make sure to keep an eye on it, bake time was less than advised. Very solid recipe, best served with whipped cream or ice cream.

Its tasty, very easy and quick. It tastes better than it looks. But too sweet for me. I will lower the amount of suger next time and will make it in a smaller form. Mine turned out bit too thin unfortunatly. ( How tall should it be?) and also its darker than the other pictures you have uploaded.

Easy and delicious. Great tips in the directions. We made it for a special thanksgiving breakfast but I think we will also take it for dessert to family get together

Made this cake on a cast iron pan. Worked wonderfully.
This will be a repeat recipe for me for sure.
