I really liked this dish. I made it for my dad and well, he didn't... wanted to feed it to the squirrels and birds the next day, lol!
The rice was al dente for sure and could have used more liquid. I added celery and chicken patty meat to make it an entree and swapped pecans for slivered almonds.
Since I had a lot of leftovers, I added a can of coconut mild and that made it better and softened the rice.
Will make again but knowing it'll need more liquid and other flavors.

This was terrible. The rice wouldn’t get soft even though all the liquid was gone so I put it on the stove with water but then it got mushy but still crispy aside from that, the flavor was weird, almost vinegary. The photo looks so pretty but mine turned out not at all like the photo.

I had this for Easter Dinner and it was terrible! I followed instructions exactly and the rice was crunchy. Flavor okay and what I expected but don’t know why it was crunchy texture. Totally embarrassed to serve it.

It worked well, but I doubled the rice because the recipe seemed too juicy. that worked well. still, very tasty.

My family loved it. I added almonds instead of pecans and it worked fine. I think pecans would have been better.
